Now that I'm able to take advantage of the sun I've tried going lower with the shutter speed. It seems to help with the cluttered backgrounds some from what I've seen so far. The composition needs some work as I think they may be a little too tight on the car. I'm interested to see how everyone else feels.

Yeah... for these cars a touch looser might be a plus. I was thinking how much I actually liked the railing in the two car shot before I read your comments.
Lighting looks awesome.

Solid...the grandstands give some great blurred colors and the lighting really does look great.

Really nice panning. I don't think any one shot is too tight. As a whole, for this post though, I would like to see some looser shots and some tighter. Going looser may give you a little more feeling of motion though.
Very nice work.
Are these 360's?

have you tried moving the car to the left or right of the frame, to lead the viewers eye ?

The first 2 with the offset wings are 358's. I think PA 358's are the only cars in the country to run this style wing. The rest of them are 410s.
Here is one from last year that is less centered.
