I don't do a lot of motor sports, but I do enjoy shooting a drag race once a year or so! I enjoyed it (despite the headache I always get when I go to the drag strip! Heat, loud noise, fumes... gets to ya!)

I'll be posting up more later. These were quickly the ones I thought looked good. I can already tell that I think I like my shots this year better than last years. Though I didn't really do anything different.
a few for the thread (check the link for more)

I have the cheaper one, the f5.6. I can't imagine how the f2.8 version looks! I shot all of these shots wide open (the 400 shots), I'd love to see what the 400 2.8 looks wide open for a rear shot like this! The background would probably just melt away :D

Actually, you might find the 2.8 to be too shallow. f/4.0 would probably be real nice... but these look great.

yea it would probably be to shallow for the front 3/4 shots, but for the rear straight on shot, I think it would be awesome! I don't know though, I'll never spend 6 grand on a 400, no way I can justify it, I don't use my 400 very often. Maybe I should rent it just once (maybe next year!) just for kicks.

two more:
love the rubber and junk flying off the rear tires on this one! (it's actually 400mm, I miss labeled it)

gotta clean my camera after those rear shots! I was crouched down at the back wall, but when the big guys started running I noticed pieces of rubber smacking the wall next to me! haha!

Thanks :) Those were fun, I think because they are different than all the rest of the photos.

Nice stuff Daniel. That Nova shot is choice, but watch out. I've got some scars on the camera from doing that a few times! Most are unique angles, good eye!
