Shot some NASCAR Craftsman Trucks from Mansfield Motorsports Park today. Not really my cup of tea, but Hey! it's not Mid-Ohio.:)
I was only able to attend for a few hours today, here is my take:

I'm relatively pleased for the first time there, or on any oval for that matter. Any suggestions for tomorrow, or the future?
Thanks!

A suggestion, for me at a least, would be to capture the atmosphere Chris. Maybe a walk up in the stands perhaps?

I think #2 and #6 are exceptional. #6 would be off the charts if there were some people in the stands.

Actually I had planned on walking up in the stands tomorrow. Not much atmosphere there today. I was really surprised at how few people showed up. I would bet there were less than 100 people in spectator areas today. The stands were EMPTY. Hopefully tomorrow will be better for such things. We shall see.
Re: Healthy food supermarkets near Mid-Ohio....... LOL. Wish I could help, but Ohio isn;t known for it's health food. Your best bet is to head into the Mansfield area. There is a Meijer, and a local chain: Geyers/Hawkins markets. But they are basic grocery stores, if you are looking for anything uber-healthy/organic...... good luck.
I can tell you that if you are in the mood for a full on artery-clogging, fat-adding, monster sub-sandwich: there is a place in Ontario, about 5-10 minutes from Mid-Oh called "The Warrior". They have the best pizza and the absolute best Sicilian Sub sandwich I have ever tasted. Pure Heaven= tasty......
Damn, I'm hungry now.:)

Thanks John!
I found myself saying the same thing all day: "I wish there were people here!"
Hopefully tomorrow I can come up with some shots that actually have fans in them!:)

For me, the first shot was the best.

...I actually really really like the tyre scalping shot Chris...
Many of the facets of stock car racing are lost to the glam of driver car stuff, less images are seen of the behind the scenes stuff...

Best I've seen from one of the 3 major NASCAR touring series in some time. Looks like you had pretty good access as well, probably due to it being a CTS race. Is there a pedestrian tunnel to cross the track during the race?

Nope, no tunnel. You can cross before or after, but once you are in the infield, you are stuck there. Whcih I found out today during a 2-hour rain delay. Couldn't cross the track because they were running sweepers and dryers, etc.
