I'm doing an event soon, where I have the following dilemna.

Basically I have no problems with getting a selection of photos, and cropping them, resizing them or whatever. I do it most days of the week...

However, for this event want I want to try and do is as follows.

1. Download cards to laptop.
2. Go through and select the shots I want to use, and copy them to another folder.
3. This is where it gets tricky... I want to crop where necessary, and do whatever colour correction - BUT I want one copy that is high resolution, and relatively un-Photoshop, beyond any obvious flaws corrected. I then want a web sized version, with the potential to add a bit more saturation or other effects. A copy is then saved in two different locations.

Now I know I could just do them seperately, but that's a bit of a hassle. I'm thinking of using a couple of actions or something, i.e. first one crop, resize to hi-res, save. Then do whatever, another action to resize again and save elsewhere.

Dos that sound feasible...?

What flavor system are you running.

Not sure about Lightroom... but with Aperture, I'd sort the files I want... give tham a rating of 3 or 4 stars. Then I'd do the edits to the images... using lift and stamp for everything but cropping. Give them a 5 star rating... and export them at original size to a folder or FTP to wherever they need to go. Then I'd take the five star selection (filtered) give one of them the extra saturation or whatever... lift the metadata of only those changes, and batch stamp it to all the other 5 star images. Now export again at using the size attribute presets in Aperture either to a folder or FTP to whereever they're going. Your hi-res will remain intact as will your original files with no adjustments.
