Oh..and if anyone manages to watch the restarted AMA race on SPEED you'll see Wheeler bale-ing out before he gets (or rather could've got clobbered) by Rogers ZX10R..

Looks like fun... I guess I'll have to break-out the recorded copy of the races to look for Wheeeler running from the bikes. Tell Danny to put that hand back on the bike (great shot though). Nice portrait of Yates, the mood totally describes the way I see him. Well done!

[Yeah, I fond the Yates portrait striking too.

Nice catch on the Hayden fall - sparks and all - I'm guessing it was shoot, shoot, hmm that's coming this way...

Todd it was fun!

Gotta love the 1D's when it comes to torrential rain.

As for the Roger shot, I'll post the series on my site next week. It was funny, I just missed the initial off, then I caught him coming down the hill into turn 5 (the shot you see above), so rather than just mash the shutter (which would mean you'll hit the buffer and miss something) I simply shot a shot at a quick interval, it then dawned on me that if his bike hooked up when it hit the grass it could be curtains for you-know-who so the last shot I have really does fill the frame before I baled..

About 10 minutes after I had one of the delayed shock "phew" moments...

So if the lightning was really evil, where's a sky shot with lightning? :D

Nice work Andrew.

I thought about it...however in a pure Darwin moment I went to the roof on top the media centre to shoot down and then, in a really dumb moment decided to stand on one of the TV camera gantries (sp?). So I saw Aaron Yates come up under the bridge at the beginning of the start finish straight, got the shots I needed and then a wammo huge lightning flash and I felt it prudent to get down and down back to safety.

Plus, I was soaked...

Andrew,

Nice shot of my pal Scotty Jensen. He was simply unbelievable in the Superstocks coming from way back on the grid to finish 3rd. Nice to see a good guy get his due.

Good Stuff Andrew:)

The more I look at your work, the more I like the portrait stuff. The shot of Yates is great.

You know. It was good to see someone totally overwhelmed and emotional with winning. He was just about in tears in parc ferme and the energy and joy was totally palpable....

Well, whilst I'm waiting for my smoked triptip beef hash to finish off in the oven..I'll reply...

I will say that for me Aaron Yates, along with Mat Mladin and Ben Bostrom are three of the most visually attractive people to portrait in the series.

Hard racing and the wizened look is in the face and behind the character. If you check out the new edition of Motorcycle Racer Magazine (issue97) you see a full page shot of Mladin looking like he's got some unfinished business to take care of.

Cool, I'll look out for you at Siberia.

Should be popular with Stoner a chance for the title.

I'm imagining it's gonna be bonkers on the Island if Stoner is *well* in the lead by then. The race after is Valencia (I think) and then it's all over.
