I'm sure some of you guys are veterans of the great race... basically I'm wondering what the best way of getting around the place is. I'll then be able to (hopefully) plan my movements over the week a bit better!

The main area, where the majority of grandstands and spectators are looks simple enough, so forget that. But what's the best way to get to the inside/outside of Arnage, Mulsanne corner, Mulsanne chicanes etc? Is it case of driving up the access roads, and flashing your pass until you are stopped?

A good guide to working trackside at Le Mans would be much appreciated - I want to do this properly!

Thanks in advance, Mike

Car was the best method for me last year, but that was because I wasn't driving... only getting picked-up/dropped off. Test/Qualifying days you can drive around without much trouble (other than lots of traffic), but race day you need a pass to drive around the inside of the track. There are parking lots around the track in some areas (ex. Porsche curves, Arnage/Indianapolis), but other places that are a bit more out of the way you can just park along the access roads. There are media shuttles that work quite well on race day for the inside of the track (roads on the outside are packed on race day). As a spectator I really don't know what the best method would be other than just walking. You have 24 hours, and the light moves around a bit, so if you plan things out to hit each of the inside corners once during the race you should be able to do half of them day one/sunset and the other half on sunrise/day two. For the outside corners, due to all the traffic on race day, you may want to get those shots on the test/qualifying days.

Should say I have a media pass, so media shuttles will cover some of it.
