im going down sunday to watch the top fules. i wont be there as a "photographer" but i will definatly have my camera. does anyone know if you can get good shots from the spectators area? any advice for that track?

No tips for this track, but decent shots can be taken from the stands. You will get the blue vested media guys in the pics, but you do what you have to. I took these at Joliet two weeks ago. I was in the second section from the end, about 1/2 way up in row 16. Used the 30D, 300mm at f/2.8 and 1/125th, ISO 400.

thanks, im hoping to get good practice with my panning. i figure if i can pan with a top fule i should be able to pan just about anything

Derric,

You can get very good stuff from the stands. I went to an NHRA event a few years ago in Las Vegas, and I was truly a novice then. Not quite comparable to Tim's, that's for sure :)

Maybe it is me, but they look bit overly saturated. Tone it down just a bit.

My first take was overexposed AND oversaturated.

thanks for the tips, i wasnt sure how far was too far on the saturation, i thought it may have been a little much but i have no idea where that point is.
