#2 is outstanding... I like how you broke away from routine with this shot. Nice job.

very nice shots. i like the results of the close-ups (3, 4)... i see that you use the tc on them. how do you feel in general about using it? i have heard mixed feelings from others but have not seen much evidence or toyed with one to make my own decision. i see you have nice results with it.

I've been waiting to check back and see how you interpreted that race....your panning shots look fantastic.

I really need to hook up w/you and steal some of your ideas. And give that big lens of yours a try ;)

Too bad about Nicky on turn 2 of lap 1....

The 1.4xTC isn't too bad, but the sharpness really does drop when compared to the 500mm on its own. For really long shots where the subject is only a small portion of the frame, the 1.4xTC almost makes things useless (maybe 1 out of 20-50 shots will come out)... this may be based on a focus sensitivity setting though (I'm going to test it this weekend).

In general, the TC slows down the tracking and produces softer images... but it is still quite usable for many types of shots, IMO.
