... and am very glad I did.

Introductions first: my name is Ken 'Djivy' Divjak, I'm Belgian and have been shooting cars as a hobby for the past 2 to 3 years. The images thus far only serve to liven up my (Dutch) autoblog, and have never been published nor sold.

Gear-wise, I use an old Canon AE1p from 1981 which I inherited from my dad, as well as a variety of toycameras like the Lomo & Holga. I shoot film exlusively- if only because I can't afford any modern gear whatsoever..., or at least not the setup I'd like.

Here are 7 shots which - I hope - give an idea of what I've been up, and which I'd love for you to criticise:

[Shot with the Canon AE1p on Fuji Superia, fixed 50mm 1.8 and converted to b&w]

[Shot with a Lomo LC-A toycam on Fuji Sensia and processed as printfilm - no PS]

[Shot with the Canon AE1p on Ilford Delta Pro b&w, fixed 50mm 1.8]

[Shot with the Canon AE1p on Fuji Reala, fixed 28mm 2.8, handheld]

[Shot with the Canon AE1p on Fuji Reala, fixed 28mm 2.8]

Thanks.

Welcome.

I really like the cross processed image and the silver Alfa surrounded by Canola. If you are happy using film then keeping using it. Digital is not better, just different. To be honest, I'd rather be using film too. Keep up the good work.

Hey welcome!

Now I know who is behind that cool Djivy.be site, nice to see you here. I noticed you are from Leuven, then we are practically neighbours since I'm from Leefdaal :)
Also, I believe I saw you a number of times at events in Belgium, there aren't many people using an AE1 anymore :)

grtz

Nice to hear that, Gerrit! Next time, tap me on the back and we'll have a drink. Or two.

Apparently we just missed each other today, I was in the IMS store in Leuven buying Intersection when the shop owner (forgot his name) said to me; that's a cool mag. I read about it on the web I said, Djivy? he asked. Yep,he was here just a minute ago...

close :)
