I have an Acer 22" LCD monitor. I calibrate it with a Spyder2express. I notice that depending on where my eye-level is in relation to the monitor, the brightness of the display changes. If I slouch a bit, or tilt the monitor differently, brightness changes up a bit. Is this normal of all LCDs? Any way to find out where the correct field-of-vision is achieved, so that I know what I see is what is correct? Thanks.

yes, this is fairly normal (on most of the LCDs I have seen). The farther away from center you get, the higher up the gamma goes. Some seem to be more finicky than others. I've actually gotten used to this, and I use it to check my shadow areas, just by leaning over a 2 feet to 'gamma up'. Works in any program :D
