As John said it was HOT in Portland "How Hot Was it Kurt? It was so hot Todd's little puppet would have burst into flames" seriously were lucky nobody had any heat problems...

So ths is my first post at the new and improved home of APN, thanks again John.

So on to Portland, it's kind of what you make of it. Nothing to fantastic as far as backgrounds unless you get a clear day and see a few mountians (never happened) so your forced to work with what your dealt.

Welcome to the site... so I have a little puppet huh?

I really like #2... great pan, killer exposure (I knew it wasn't one of Eric's when I saw it on the ALMS site). The implied motion in #7 is perfect. #5 is very creative, much like the shots JT was trying with the crowd, and the car is nicely visibly (what was lacking with JT's shot in question).

Great stuff!

Not sure if Van Overbeek is going to cry or what. Where you stepping on his foot. :) Nice capture though.

Really like the Ferrari interior shot. Nice mood considering the inanimate objects.

Good eyes on Butch....

The blearcher shot..... hmmmm.... almost. Would have liked to see it straight and a little bit looser. Definitely could have used a slower shutter.

The two "partial" Corvettes aren't working for me.

Nice tight shot on the R10, though a little more wheel would have sealed the deal.

Looks like you have a good weekend, all-in-all.

the crop on #6 is a bit awkward to look at, I don't think that one works as well as the rest.

I really dig #5, I think this one would be fun to play with different color grades, I bet you could get some interesting variations on this one :)

I like the motion on #2, and the banner behind the car almost looks like a rocket trail :D haha!

#1, the portrait, I think it might be nice to see a bit of space inbetween the ear and the edge of the photo, or maybe it adds to the 'stress' implication of the shot, as it is now.

Not sure I like #1, the expression just doesnt quite work for me.

#2, 3, and 4 are all real nice, the interior shot is really good and I even like 2 despite the angle, though I think I would have liked it more had it been horizontal with the car in lower right corner.

#5, good try, not sure if a slower shutter as JT suggested would improve it or not though. I tried this on test day and couldnt get the right look or angle either. I tried slower shutters and the X braces just tended to muddy everything up when blurred more, though it could have just been my angles as well. I just am not sure if those were the right bleachers to attempt that shot on, mine are still sitting on the HDD waiting for me to revisit the issue.

Sorry dude, but #6 and 7 should have probably had the delete key used on them. No offense, but you just plain missed them, you cut off the cars with no real reason to and it doesnt work or "imply" anything other than you just missed the shot. Reason is they dont look like intentional crops since you have so much space in the frame you could have used to get them all in the frame. Great, they are sharp, but they are just misses in my book.

#8 is good, but a little wheel would have made it that much better. Plus I can see a hint of the louvers over the wheels blown out, getting the front of the car in would have given that extra bit of drama, with spinning wheels and broken louvers and the signs of endurance racing, that would have made the image that much better.

A for effort though on a couple of them. :D
