MotoGP Baby! It was a blistering weekend at the track (air temps well over 100, and track temps reported around 150), but no matter how hot the weather got it was no match for the action on track. Enjoy the photos:

I'm really loving the braking shot with the rear tire just lifting up and the wide vertical shot! Too good!!!

A little looser shot on 2 could have captured the graphics on the sign and done kind of a double image of the real rider and the rider on the sign....just an idea.

Great speed in #7.

Qualtiy work Todd. Like the last shot with the fan holding the Honda banner.

I was requested to get a shot that "captured the fans and the bikes"... so decided to go up behind the fans for the victory celebration. Here is the resulting shot... do you think it works, do you feel like you would be part of the action?

Funny. I just responded to this shot in the POTN forum. I do like it, I may have gone for a little wider shot to show more of the fans, maybe even compose that Hayden kid in the corner. The cork screw is a pretty crowded place...standing room only, most of the time.

Todd,

I love looking at your bike shots, even though I never watch or attend bike races.

1 is my fav.. I just think it looks way too cool, and really portrays the speed and power of these machines.

Nice work!!

Todd nice shots as always...

1. The start of the front straight is always a nice shot, rumble strips and wheelies...
2. What a great background, only it seems a bit flat color wise especially when you compare shot 1 and 2?
6. Also really works for me, the bacground really flows with the image.
10. I really like the shot, yeah it might have been better with a wee more people in the shot but the honda sign is really nice.

Really great stuff Todd! I especially like the first two; although I agree with Kurt, the color does seem a bit flat on #2.

So did you end up getting credentials Todd?

I agree... I'll take a look at bumping the levels/curves a little.

So did you end up getting credentials Todd?
Short answer: No. I was able to talk with people at the track and get a paddock/media center pass for the weekend so I could actually transmit images and stuff. As for trackside I did not have credentials... I shot quite a bit from behind the fences (Laguna is quite nice for that)... but there were a few times the track security assisted me... but, I'd prefer not to go into specifics here

Todd, wow what a nice set of images.
I have to admit that I've never been a big fan of bikes, I've always been a car guy. But after looking at these I can't wait for AMA Superbike at MidOh this year.

I love #1, good stuff.

Did you happen to get any wider shots of the corkscrew? I always thought a wider shot with a rider entering the Corkscrew at the top of the frame w/a rider exiting the corkscrew at the bottom of the frame would be cool. One rider turning left, the other turning right. I think that would look kinda cool.

Nice set!:)

I was up in the area visiting my dad that weekend, we both commented on how much it would suck to be shooting at LS since it was so damn hot.

Give the conditions, I'd say you did a great job.
