This is an interesting read for anyone that ships CF, CDs, or even cameras through USPS. Their devices that radiate the packages to disinfect them have proven to damage prints, make CF and other memory cards unusable, and even damaged actual digital cameras to the point they would not power up. So be careful and maybe the extra cost for FedEx and UPS is worth it in many cases.

Same here. I've always used 1st class USPS unless shipping outside the surrounding region. Perhaps I ought to rethink that. I did have a rash of CDs that wre unreadable a few months back but chalked it up to something that I did. The most recent problem is an 11x14 that I shipped flat with 'Photos do not bend stamped accross it arrived bent....righ across the 'do not bend stamp'.

I have shipped prints via USPS as well with no issues other than the ocassional bending. I would keep doing it till it tends to become a problem. If you read closely, only in some cases did it cause problems and many times your customer may not even notice. Also note that these were tested under a "worst case" scenario, so all your stuff is not necessarily going through this bad of radiation.
But its good to know about and I wont ship anything too expensive or that cant be replaced without being insured or through someone else.

FYI about FedEx...They will not insure any electronic item you ship if it's not in the manufactures original packaging. I shipped an LCD monitor and they broke it and are now refusing to pay.
