i don't know where else to put this...
here's the deal. I run a drifting website called EverythingDrift.com (it's in my sig). This weekend, there is a pretty big event happening at Irwindale Speedway, and I need someone to cover it. I will be out of town visiting family, and our normal staff all has other plans.
There is a 'practice' event from 9a - 4p, as well as a 'qualifier' for a major drifting series which runs from 4p - 8p. The qualifier is what I need, some shots from the practice would be a bonus (if you showed up at 2p, and shot til 6 or 7, that would probably be perfect). There WILL be drivers from this qualifier who will be recieving licenses for Formula D, and there is a huge opportunity to sell images to potential / current sponsors of these drivers. I can't guarantee anything, because I don't know who is driving or who will qualify, but this is where our photographers make the most money (and I always give credit to our photographers on the site, as well as contact information. IE: if any companies ask us about our images, I will direct them straight to you and you will be in charge of your own negotiations. I don't ask for a cut or anything).
Unfortunately, the site doesn't make much money, so I can't offer a large quantity of money. But I will pay $50 out of my own pocket to pay for your gas and a meal (i can mail you cash / check or paypal you, whichever you want). I pride our site on having a high quality of images, so I really want someone who has experience with motorsports. That's why i'm posting it here.
