i think its more of a freestyle thing
just to globally get some good shots of the different events to compose a little story of sorts
I don't have to cover every event, I don't think I could anyway

Rally's big shot at making an impression to a wider audience in the US! Wish I could I was going.
Morgan, do you get to shoot any of the overseas rallies? I heard Ireland would be on the 2007 WRC calendar. That would be a great event.

Well, for the most part, I have stopped shooting rally to pursue more automotive work. This will be the second rally I have been to this year (WRC Mexico was the other) and the only reason I am shooting it is because I am getting paid pretty well, it's a bit of a big deal and it's close.
I have shot a few overseas rallies though, most of which were in Ireland. I am not sure I would want to go to the WRC Ireland, they are rabid about rally there and the country will come to a standstill. It will be nuts, especially the traffic. Can you say gridlock?
Now if someone was to pay me to go, I would love to go ;)

Were you able to get credentials for the stages or just the stadium?

Ireland is an absolutely beautiful country, and the rally is taking place in the tourism off-season and out of any hot weather. With as fast as the weather changes, it would give a lot of great shooting opportunities.
If someone were to even break me even I'd go, but I'm at a bit different stage in my shooting life than you are.

Yeah, I love Ireland. The Irish national championship rallies are just as good (maybe better because of the intimacy) than the WRC rallies.
There are more WRC cars (privately owned) competing in the Irish Championship than in the WRC, so you can go to any event and have a great experience and get a great pictures without the huge crowds.
