This is my first post to the group. My name is Gary Dibble and I come from Vancouver BC, Canada. I moved to Antwerp Belgium 17 years ago after meeting my wife in a B+B in Canterbury England. My interest in motorsport began years ago (as a kid I remember Graham Hill winning in Monaco) but it wasn’t until I started watching F1 on the BBC did I really become a motorsport fan. The last 3 years I’m been shooting from the stands at Spa, Zolder, and the Nurburgring.
The Proximus 24 Hours at Spa-Francorchamps is one of the racing highlights of the year in Belgium. I go every year and I bring my camera along to capture some images. I’m no pro but I do my best with my humble skills. My shooting philosophy is to keep it simple and remember the principles of art: harmony, rhythm, and contrast. Now I'll see if I can figure out this image upload feature..
Thanks for looking………
Gary

Ah, our Belgian race on an international messageboard. :)
Great shots, especially number 2. I was there the same day, same corner, and I did not think of taking a wide angle shot.
I'm not a pro at all, but I know one of the track marshals :)

Great shots from the both of you... I love European racing like you wouldn't believe!
Anthony, since you might not have seen the thread about your work in the Off-Topic forum, I will tell you that your 330i photoshoot on your website simply took my breath away. Nothing short of amazing.

Gary - Really great stuff! I love how you used the wide-open backgrounds. I think my favorite image is #6, very well done!
Anthony - I really like #4... very minimal, yet still very exciting. And to echo Zerin's comments, absolutely killer car work on your website... I've been admiring it for quite a while.

Nice work from both of you, I would love to make it over and shoot some races at the Ring or Spa.
Anthony, very nice stuff on your site. I will need to check out more when I'm not at work

Todd, Thanks for the kind words. Spa is a great place to shoot, even from the cheap seats. You’ll have to make the pilgrimage to Spa one day. Incidentally, I’m a great admirer of your work.

I really like wider shots. Spa is too beautiful a place to stay really tight on the cars.
