What do you do for website hosting and how do you like it? I'm fed up with crappy service and support from aplus.net, and I've tried dreamhost but they are no good when it comes to uptime.

dreamhost seems to have been doing quite nicely for me, a bunch of folks at work suggested it to me, so I switched. I've got huge ammounts of space and bandwidth, I think it's 50gigs of bandwidth every month, and 5 terabites of space.

+1 for dreamhost as well. I've been with them since 2002

I've heard some stories from friends of poor customer service from DreamHost, but I don't have any personal experience with them.
I host my site with a friend's company - angryhosting.com . He's got very reasonable rates, and I haven't had any problems in the past 4 years.
Another site I work with is on GoDaddy, and they've been very reasonable (although there was 1 incident where the site was shut down by them due to a security exploit, they were easy to work with in getting it resolved and probably saved us a lot of headaches).
One of my friends who has done a LOT of e-commerce and websites swears by bluehost.

I've heard too many bad reviews when it comes to a lot of hosting sites, basically if its too good to be true then it is, theres no way a company can afford to give all its customers the 5000 gigs and whatever terrabytes of transfer that they promise and they frequently oversell their servers. I've looked into several hosts and in the end talking to many webmasters I've come to the conclusion that downtownhost.com or pair networks or pairlite.com and some others are a few good ones out there that dont try to blindly lead you off the cliff with false promises. Unless your willing to shell out the money for a VPS or a Dedicated server I'd be wary of most of the shared plans offered out there. Even alot of those "hosting review" sites are a scam and get paid for links and such.
