South African National Track Championship is called the super series, it consists of VW Polo Cup, SA Production Cars, Wesbank V8's, Motorbikes, etc etc. The opening event of the season was at Kyalami this weekend and I was covering it for some local publications. I know its not sebring, but any thoughts or critique appreciated!
1. Class A Production Cars - BMW has won 5 out of the last 8 years, but the 350Z is reigning champ.

Never heard of a Mustang being called a supercar, lol. Nice shots though.
I'm a big Mustang fan, so I like that one.

I like 1 and 4 a lot. Nice shot of the racing, but also a great sense of atmosphere and "being there" from the background of spectator cars. Number 5 disturbs me, kinda like the headless rider. :)

Tim,
Your technique looks good. But, these look like they are from roughly the same location on the track. Any other views from different parts of the track?
Also, your white balance seems off. It looks a little yellow to me.

Thanks for the comments. Haha, ryan the class is called wesbank v8 supercars!
Jeff they are all from the same side of the track, no excuse there, normally mix it up more, not sure why I didn't. Thanks for the comment. Not sure about the WB, conditions varied, but it was mostly overcast, and I had my white balance set on cloudy, and ranged it from +2 to 0...

Well, I guess that could account for the color cast. I leave mine on auto white balance. The camera seems to handle it pretty well, be it sunny or overcast. If I do have to change mine, it usually is because of a light source other than the sun (halogen, florescent etc.).

I'll echo others' comments on white balance. It's definitely on the yellow side. Overcast conditions should result in a blue cast. Still, no big deal there; it just looks a bit unnatural, because the conditions clearly aren't low sun (which would yield a yellow or red cast).
#1 is the standout, but the thing that attracts me to it is not only the position and motion of the cars (which is nice), but also the flagperson who has turned around to watch the action (which gives the photo some real personality). I've looked at the photo 4 or 5 times today, and each time, my eyes have wandered from the cars to that person. It adds a layer of depth to the shot.

Thanks Jeff and Bob, your opinions mean a lot! I will try auto WB next time.
