While ease of access at Sebring didn't bother me as much as it bothered JT (I don't mind jumping fences), it DID play a role in my missing BOTH sunsets! Chalk it up to my ignoring the maxim - - Plan the shoot, and shoot the plan. During either night practice or the race, I knew I wanted to shoot sunset from outside Tower Turn. On the first night, I got caught up working the Ferrari/Spyder shot location that several people commented on in my previous Sebring post. No problem...it seemed like a good trade at the time, because I really liked what I was seeing on my camera's LCD. On race day, I totally miscalculated the amount of time it would take for me to walk/jog from the exit of the Hairpin (Nbrs 3 and 4, below) to Tower Turn (Nbrs 5-7, below). Ugh. ...I'd have given anything to be able to cruise along in my golf cart around the back of the track. Shrug. Anyway, here's a few I captured during the late-afternoon and early-evening hours. I suppose I can't complain, because I got some different looking stuff, but I really really like some of the sunset shots others grabbed at T1. Next year...

Nice.

I like #1, the two Tafels running together, The light in #4 is pretty darn nice too.

Nice work. Someday I'll make it to Sebring...

I really like #4... very clean... sometimes less is more. #1 is great with the two team cars (I can never seem to get those).

It was very nice of you to order the images the way you did...so I could simply copy and paste my comments to part 1....

1) Wow

7) Wow

The first 4 images all appear to be a tad over-sharpened.

#4 is simply fantastic. Great light, great separation from the background, different and interesting background and it's so sharp that I'm sure that I could shave with it.

#5 is surreal. The car is popping out of a dream. Love it.

Very, very nice.

You're just accustomed to all my photos being blurry.

I tried some shots with the (former) Chateau Elan in the BG too, mine were not as good as yours... I was thinking it was too bad the balconies were not filled with spectators as that would increase the interest in the shot. To that end I really like #3.

Thanks for some insight into what works. Is it 2009 yet?

#4 is terrific. Great car attitude, light, sharpness, blur and atmosphere.
