These photos were used for a story on AudiWorld.com a month or so ago (I would provide a link, but AudiWorld is blocked where I'm at right now...). I wasn't very happy with any of the photos I took - while they may technically be OK, I thought they were all too generic and didn't capture the car very well (other than maybe this first one). It's probably because I was having too much fun driving the car, I put 1500 miles on it! If I only had $75k to spend on a car...

I was scheduled to photograph this same press car again a few weeks later, and was planning on doing car-to-car shots, but I was forced to cancel due to a family emergency.

Anyway, for the photos. Like the Saturn Sky I posted a bit ago, I think the details are better than the full-car shots.

Great Stuff! I really like the way you've always incorporated your backgrounds into the shot. Great use of atmosphere and location!

To be really picky, 3,4 and 6 might use some color temperature adjustment if you wanted to be more spot on since the car is silver, not purple/blue.

Actually that car was a light blueish-silver color - not a true silver. With the sunset lighting, I think my photos are fairly accurate.

Here is a photo of the same car in daylight:

Very nice... one thing that hit me quickly on #6 is that you should have rotated the wheels just a bit more so that the RS4 was visible through the larger gap in the spokes (rather than just the "R" as it is now). Like you said, the detail shots are very well done. I like how you captured the essence of the car (same with the Sky shots) from the details... and they aren't the "cliche" detail shots either (Audi circles, etc.), bur rather the ones that show-off the key aspects of the car. Perfect example... the shot of the side mirror... I actually had to think a second as to why that shot was even there, then the "V8" hit me. Personally, I'd have liked a front 3/4 shot rather than a pair of rear 3/4, but I like the front of the RS4 (and most all cars) more than the rear.

-Todd...

Note: With a car like that... I'd put 1500 miles on it too!

Tilting the camera doesn't really make a good picture better, it just makes me dizzy.

I think all the shots are great, except for the first one. The only thing that bothers me with that one is that the rear of the car is highly underexposed. I'd really like to see it lit more, but other than that, it's a great shot.

Oh yes, my mistake.
