All I can say is, the place was totally jammed............ and, you can never have TOO many credentials. I think Long Beach may have topped the mark for "let's see how screwed up we can make a credentialing system... IF we try really, really hard."
Never the less, we took a couple of snaps.

John - enjoyed meeting you guys out there - even if I was mostly out to cover the Super Lap and Formula Drift portions it was certainly a great weekend out in Long Beach!

Chalk me up for #1 as well. Very nice.
I like the driver "portrait" as well.
#7 is cool too, though I wonder what it would look like with a stupid-slow shutter... all those colors just blurred into mush with the top portion of the car poking through. Could be cool, don't know if it's possible or not, having never been there.
As usual, very nice job JT!

Hey John, 3, 7, and 8 for me but I liked some of the shots you posted on the POTN forums a little better though.

Digging the lighting in #6 in the POTN collection over #1 in this collection.
I think I saw you once out on the track, but didn't have a chance to say Hi. Maybe next time I'll get in touch before hand and we find a second somewhere to finally meet.
I'll be posting some of my stuff tonight.
After shooting that track, I can appreciate your shots even more. :) Great stuff!

#7 was a pretty low percentage shot in-as-much as you had to shoot it blind... waiting for the car to come into your frame over your shoulder. I was actually shooting nearly parallel to the fence and back away from the hole. There was a photo hole filled with photographers background-left... and then you had tires foreground-right. So it was more of a wiggle than a pan. ;) Especially once you zoomed in a bit to pull in more car.
Thanks,
JT

Ahhhhh, I see it now. Yeah, I guess that would be kind of hard to do, huh. Makes #7 all that more impressive.
Very nice.

Funny you say that... it was an awkward shot... you know, one of those deals where I had to bend half over with nothing to support me and everytime I'd look at the previews I wasn't convinced I was getting anything... and then that thought went through my mind, "yeahit's a tough shot, but what if you walk away from it, get back to download and really like it?" So I stuck it out for a bit. I like the ones that worked and I haven't seen anyone else with it. So... maybe it was worth it. :)
Thanks,
JT

Another vote for #1. #7 was worth the effort. I like it.

1 was pretty impressive.
John, were you at the Speed Racer meet and greet with the BK Motorsports Mazda crew? Thought I saw you in the background of one of the shots.

Nice stuff, too bad the group shot she (Ricci) decides to look at the other guy next to her instead of you... :(
