I was there for the Moto-ST bikes but managed to squeeze off a few frames with cars in them. Imagine that.

Nice work w/ the oak tree. Looking at the Kodak car I never new there was that much grade to VIR.:p

Perfect compostion of the Oak Tree turn... nice.
Your post work looks a little "hot" from here, though.

Does to me too, but I've been guilty of being too reserved in the past so I'm in new territory. :D
However, all the colors here are straight from the camera (D300) and haven't been altered or boosted, apart from me setting the black and white points in post. And the camera is capable of a whole lot more in the "hot" category. I think I'll tone it down a notch or two more. I love the D300 but I have been having some difficulty getting colors the way I want them.
Thanks for the comments, all!

So Grand-Am is a road race / rally race series? :D Definitely like that first one.
I agree with John though, they do seem a bit on the hot side, especially the last one.
Good Stuff!

Well, to be honest, I'd null the camera to default.
The biggest issue I see with the Oak Tree shot is black point is gone. The red pretends to hold up because of the contrast against the green... which by the way is totally blown out... but the car is a deeper red than what appears in the shot.
I'd say the Sun Trust car is closest to accurate... but it might be a touch over exposed.

Well, I like an Oak tree shot too, but for me it's #5. Interesting shadows and nice reflection of the tree in the windshield. It doesn't scream "speed," but I like it because it's different. :)
