A few from the past month. Do the backgrounds ruin the 1st and 4th image? Also, I feel like the downtube really breaks up #5, any opinions? Thanks.

#4 is the best

I'd say that the backgrounds make the images (not that the cars aren't great too)... often times the more things there are in the background the more motion you can see and therefor the more exciting an image can be. Very nice stuff!

To Todd's point, I think that's what makes #4 the strongest.

In the driver shot, I'm not all that bothered by the down tube... but more the shadow over the left (his right) side. I assume since the visor is up, the car is not on-track... a little fill flash and having him look into the camera could have made this a stronger shot.

3 and 4 do it for me! I like how they are driving into the light, instead of driving away from the light (like in 2), just feels a bit more balanced. 1 has it as well, but I like 3 and 4 better, I guess I like seeing the dirt flinging in the air? not quite sure why I like them better.

#3 would make a nice print on the wall! Nice clean background, great light on the car, and great capture :-)

#4 is my favorite

The downtube is a bit of a distraction I think, I usually have the same issue. Overall some very nice stuff!

Hey Ryan, nice to see you finally got here lol!!! How was your stuff from last night?? What a strange night and no full moon..... Did I show you the shots of the parts from Nate's wreck and the results in Dingus parking lot??? We were very very very lucky..... Cheers

Yeah, I'm around here from time to time....my stuff from Saturday was pretty good actually. But of course the more I look at it the more I dislike it....until like, 2 months from now when I realize it's really good! I'm weird about my stuff like that. Hopefully we don't have any tornados tonight and 2 shows Friday!

I see some dark halo/mask around the tires in the last two images, are those mask lines, or shadows from a flash? if they are mask lines, I'd clean them up :)

You're probably seeing the shadows from flash

Thanks for the comments everyone. I was a bit concerned that the light pole coming out of the top of the car in image 4 might bring some comments.

Brent,

#4 is the best to my eye. It has a great sense of motion, sweet light, nice DOF and the grandstands in the background. I might have cropped it a bit differently to show more of the roost. Still, it's a very nice shot.
