Took some shots at a mate's RC racing event couple of weeks back, the little buggers can be hard to track at speed! I got essentially unrestricted access to the whole track, so getting up close wasnt a problem at all. Used my 24-105 and actually found the IS hindered not helped. Guess it must be the lack of mode 2 IS, as it would be fighting the panning movement, but i'd be keen to get that confirmed.

Yeah, you really need to plan it out and work which corner/straight is going to work best for it.
