First. A big thanks to John for taking the reigns and getting something motocentric back up on the web.
Looking at the comments and feedback on imagery I'm thrilled that we have a new vibrant attitude.
I'd also like to take a quick thanks to Jim Sykes for his overwhelming review of my Miller schtuff on FM. I was seriously touched by your review mate. If you check out Road and Track (current ed), next months RoadRacerX and Motorcycle Racer in the UK you'll see they *sold* big time. Shoot big and *always* look up.
But Jim, I was seriously warmed by the lovely supportive post. I promise to be a better "critiquer" in future.
You know what I mean.
Anyways, here's a few from Mid OH-HIGH-OH

Wow... I get to make a negative comment on the work of Mister Wheeler! Where are the fronts and backs of the bikes? I like tight shots and all, but the Yates shot would have been much better with the rest of the bike. I really like the focus on the "behind ben" shot, but was this the shot you envisioned? Very nice shot of Hacking, very moody... you always do a great job with the people shots.
Looking forward to more!

Welcome! Good to see you here...I was also seriously impressed by your Miller post on Fred Miranda.
I really like the lighting color on the hacking shot; the behind Ben shot is creative and a different view although if the front rider's shoulder were a little lower or to the right you could have had a little more helmet.

You kill me! Actually I have the whole bike as well, but considering most of what I shoot ends up in magazines/editorial overseas they tend to like things chopped up a little. You have to think "bursting into your window" visual.

Yes. Actually I was going for a twist on selective focus but again didn't want to be capturing a "typical" shot.

Yer welcome.

Why do you need more helmet?
That's the problem with most is that they're stuck in this "gotta see everything". I'm actually shooting from a riders perspective (being a rider) and so what I'm giving you is a sense of what it would be like to look past someone's shoulder and onto the next corner, pice of road.
As for Miller. I may post that here when I get a moment.

I see your point Wheeler and appreciate that insight and vision. From that point of view what you captured is right on.
I guess I'm one of those that if I caught a car doing back flips down the back straight at Road Atlanta I might say "Pretty good, but there's no flames shooting out of the car". :0
As for Miller...do post it, since I think a lot here would appreciate seeing how you incorporated environment into the shots.

Very nice. I like the feel of the first shot with the blue cast that is present.

Kinda "standard" bikey shot
Standard shot my hiney.:D The low angle, blurred forground, and extra space in front of Rog rocks!
Feels kinda like if he lost it mid corner he would come flying right out of the monitor at you.

Wow Andrew, Awesome shots. Simply Awesome.
I was at M.O. as well. It was my first time shooting bikes, and I must say I have a greater respect for those who can shoot bikes well. IMHO it's ALOT more difficult than cars, at least for me. My ratio of keepers to crap was ALOT lower w/bikes than with cars.:o
I have to say I really like the 'selective' focus shot you posted on "behind Ben". Great Idea.:)
