I went to my first NASA event today, and I have to say that I was Impressed. Huge car count. Every group had at least 20-30 cars on track. Good Stuff. I only was able to stay through the morning so I didn't quite get to walk around the facility as much as I wanted, but here is what I got:

I tried a couple more of these, and like my first try, I wish they were sharper....

The first three are excellent.

Fourth one is losing the car.

Fifth one is good... I prefer the next photo hole down to your right. :)

BTW.... two is a very good 3/4 pan... that's a tough shot to get sharp. Now... try dropping the shutter a little bit. I'll usually start at a comfortable shutter speed.... get some stuff in the bank.. and then progressively drop the sutter to a level consistant with stupid. :) You'll lose the keeper rate... but the one you get is a killer and will have everyone thinking you're a panning God. :)

:D Amazing.... I love that you can look at a photo, and know exactly what photo hole it was taken from.

Yeah, I do know which hole you are talking about, but I didn't have credentials, and there are only about 3 or 4 photo holes that, if you have enough focal length, you can shoot through from the spectator side of the fence.

Thanks for the comments. Here are a few from Sunday morning:

The big turnout no doubt had something to do with the NASA Nationals next month.

Composition in the first shot is really nice.

That's some big air on the Steeda Mustang, and he must have been "up" for awhile given that shot is a pan.

And more than anything specific....good work getting out to the track weekend after weekend working on your technique and style. I'm sure you are seeing big gains in what you bring home.

Yeah the Steeda Mustang had some serious air. He basically jumped the curb w/the drivers side of the car. I caught the pic on the way down. I saw that in the viewfinder and said "I better have got that!":)
