Wimberley Type I Full Tripod Head (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/404536-REG/Wimberley_WH200_Gimbal_Type_Tripod_Head.html), Type II new is $594.95. This is a Gimbal type tripod head used with large telephoto lenses. Lenses like the 500mm F4 L IS with a camera body attached to them are very heavy and difficult to hand hold and get sharp images from. Regular ball heads and tilt - pan tripod heads are not usually up to the task of handling this extra weight. this is where the Gimbal style head comes into play. Not only is it able to bare the weight, it is designed so that the lens can move in a 360 degree range along the horizontal plane as well as nearly a 180 degrees in the vertical plane... and every place in between! About the only thing that limits where you can freely point your lens is the tripod legs and your body. The head I am selling is in perfect working condition and only has a few scratches/chips from normal ware and tear and plate fittings.
