Hi all, apologies for posting more old stuff. Just wanted to get more critiques/advice so I'm better prepared for future shoots. Thanks everyone!

Whoops sorry, I JUST read the bit about not starting up a second thread to post additional photos. How do I delete this? If admin can delete this thread for me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Dan,

Um, well they're still here so thought I'd throw 2-cents at them. I think this set is just about as good as the first. I love the #2 of Yates and #3 and 5 of Spies. #3 just rocks.

I really like #1 and #3. The first one is just class cool photo... sharp rider/bike and nice blur on the background. I really like the angle on the #3. I like it a bit more than #2... maybe it's because I'm a Spies fan, but I just think it works a little better (not that #2 is bad). #5 is nice, but he's kinda in the dip and some of the bike is lost (I hate when that happens).

One thing I noticed with this set... everything seems to be very focused on one bike on the piece of track it's on. Do you have any 'atmosphere' shots? Many of these events are at quite beautiful locations with iconic elements. I always have a hard time showing these sorts of images... something that gets away from the "this could be a bike on any track in any corner... what makes it special" sorts of shots. Just something to think about... I know I'm guilty of focusing too tight on the bikes at a sacrifice of the atmosphere.

Thanks Todd. Even well after I started making a conscious effort to not shoot so zoomed in, it's still hard to leave it alone sometimes (something I'll need to really watch out for). I did develop a mix of wide/close-up shots now and I'm not sure why i chose those particular shots to post this time around. I found that most of my "atmosphere" shots don't look very good, ie background too busy, awkward-looking, something just doesn't look right, etc. In short, I just need more practice...

As for bikes being "in the dip".. is that generally something to be avoided?
