Greetings All!!!

I know it's been ages, and I am glad to see the board is still here. Just want to let all of you know that Adorama Camera has 4GB and 8GB SanDisk Compact Flash and SD cards on sale. The 4GB are $19.95 and the 8GB are 29.95.

If your interested in buying them please call Fred at 1.800.223.2500 x 2259. Be sure to tell him "Big Chris The Photographer" told you about the sale. I don't know how long it's going on for, and at that price, I wouldn't wait long to order them.

Happy Holiday,
CP

Which SanDisk cards is this for? Does it include the Extreme IV ones? Are these prices before or after the big SanDisk rebate (buy one, two, or three and get $, $$, or $$$ back)?

I'll give a call and find out some of the details, but thanks for the tip!

-Todd...

Just a little over-the-top, don't you think?

And, FYI... I just paid $17. for Extreme III 4GB CF cards on Amazon.

Wolf Camera was offering 3 of those 4Gig Extreme III CF/or SD cards for FREE after that SanDisk mail-in Rebate. I thought even at $20 each, it was a great deal.

I missed out on the deal by getting to the store late, but I found out later that Amazon has the 8 Gig Extreme III CF cards for $29, so I bought 2 of them.

Now, I have 16 gigs for what I would have paid for 12. ($60)

I was happy with the deal!

Amazon.com and Adorama have a deal. If you order through the website, it takes you to Amazon's site. If you call you help a guy who makes his living on commission.

Yes Todd, I believe you can get the rebate as well. So if you buy 3 8GB cards at $30. each with Free Shipping, you get $70. back in a Master Card gift card. So you end up paying $20. for 3 8GB cards.

Not a bad deal if you ask me.

JT-

I am an employee of Adorama, but I don't work on commission, all the sales guys do. Just want them to know who sent the customer their way, goes a long way around here.

As for what you paid through Amazon, they get the cards from Adorama, only thing is we pay them the commission instead of one of our sales guys.

Thanks,
CP

And I am not.

This site was not provided for stores (or their employees) to peddle their wares. Though Adorama is welcome to place banners (as is Fred) on the site.

I hope you can understand how I don't want everyone showing up posting their deal-o'-the-day and turning the site into a flea market.

And please... I know you're dying to give me the argument that you were just trying to pass on a great deal to the guys here on the site.... ya-da-ya-da... while that may sound noble and all, it's not fair when you consider it's on my dime.

And given your opening statement....

I know it's been ages, and I am glad to see the board is still here. I'm only left to wonder why you're glad to see the board is still here.

Thanks for understanding.

Gee, I am sorry you feel so strongly about my passing along a great deal. I sent it to all my photographer friends, not just you.

As far as my statement about the boards still being here, I don't visit as often as I would like because in addition to shooting at my day job I am also shooting for US Presswire and Getty. Automotive photography is something I dabble in as a hobby.

I was glad to see most of you making a living at this form of photography are still doing so. Everyone is cutting back on photography these days including AP, REUTERS, GETTY, and so on.

One last thing, if you are so concerned about this site being on "your dime", why not password protect it and charge a membership fee.

I was just trying to send some useful information to the users here.

Happy Holidays.

I think what he feels so strongly about is not commercializing this board. First Adorama posts about an offer. Then someone else. It can snowball if you're not careful. Its JT's board, he can decide if he wants this to happen or not.

Notice he did give you a means to spread the word through a banner ad.

Banner ads aren't my call. Heck, I'm the product photographer here. I will pass it along to the ad department though.

I see the cascading point. I just wanted to let you all know about the sale. As far as the salesman info goes, I'd rather see the commission money go in the pocket of someone who works hard everyday and not to a company like Amazon.

People seem to have forgotten in this day and age what it's like to be the "little guy".

Not the smartest comment when more than a few people on this board is the sole proprietor in their photography business.

since when is adorama the 'little guy'? :D (sorry, had to!)

I don't care what people post here, but it's not my board. I'm probably going to be picking up some more CF cards sometime soon, when the 16 gig cards get cheaper. Right now I'm doing pretty good on a few 4 gig sandisk extremes and ultras.

Chris: I was ok with the quote when it was sharing information...

When it became "call Fred and teill him Big Chris.... sent ya" I felt it was a bit over-the-top. After-all... you might have suggested, call Fred and tell him you saw it on Automotive Photo.

And your argument about the little guy, wouldn't that be ... me?

Anyway... I think I've made my point and I don't think I should have to defend it.

Hey, I am right there with you. I just work here because it pays the bills. I'd rather be shooting sports 6 nights a week and sleeping until noon.

I just meant that it would be nice to give the commission to a sales person as opposed to a huge company.
