The Rock is the starting point of the very first race in America. The race happened on Thanksgiving day 1895 on the south side of Chicago to Evanston. Took somewhere around 7 or 8 hours. Today from The Rock to Evanston it takes about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Here's my favorite couple pics from the cruise and Rock itself.
