I get an email, second hand stating that an organization is interested in one of my photos. They are willing to offer me a t-shits, so what size would I like?

- I simply replied :

I take the rights to my photos, especially in a commercial aspect seriously. I'd like to know the intended usage and exposure of the ad, to determine a price.

what a kick in the nuts - i thought to myself. I'm interested in the reply I get back... Just thought I'd share, figured some would get a kick out of that....

Does that t-shit come with hundred-dollar bills stuffed into the chest pocket? :)

They replied to my email - that my asking prices are out of the budget. We did however come to an agreement in price.

Hey - they went low - I went high. we met in the middle.

just got a reply from my samples - now I am getting paid and a few shirts...

It never stops amazing me at the level some big companies will go.

Are they nice t-shirts? You should share them with us. :)

That's pretty funny. Payment in T-shirts. No doubt they'll shrink up the first time you wash them.

It's amazing what companies will offer for photos to use in ads, T-Shirts is quite a slap in the face. Suspension kit is iffy unless it was H&R offering me a fully tuned/balanced touring kit front to back for my GTI ;)

I once wrote some custom software for a small business that was in the billiards industry. Got paid mostly in cash, but part of it in a brand-new McDermott EK3 cue. Still have it to this day, though my skills in using it have fallen dramatically.
