2008 has been a very large year for me photographically. I got my 5D in late 2007 but 2008 is where I brought my photography from a decent level to a professional level. When I took my only two photography classes in Community College many years ago I used the rule, the more you shoot and learn from what you shoot, the better you get. Well, this year that rule definitely rang true for me. I shot ten track day weekends and two ALMS races totaling over 90,000 photos. Quantity doesn't mean much if you don't learn from what you are doing, but I learned a hell of a lot during 2008.

I really must credit everybody on this forum for all of the wonderful feedback I have received from you all over the last year. Thanks!

Here is a sampling of photographs from 2008. The larger collection of images from last year can be found on my website.

I really like #1... The number of times I've tried to shoot that shot and failed... killer job. #2 is spectacular as well. Very well done, looks like a year to be proud of!

Thanks guys! I was surprised in how few keepers I got when shooting #1. A much harder angle that I thought. I was luck with this one though. :D

I'm digging on #3 & #8

#3...The e36 is under some serious load coming on to the what looks like the front straight, and what track was that ?

#8...I just like the rear of this car...Is this a CSL?

Good work!

Thanks again guys.

Curtis, #3 is the beginning of the front straight at Laguna Seca shot from turn 11.

Not sure of the details of the bimmer in #8, but here is a front view of it. Maybe this will help.

Yep that is what I thought it was...I love these vintage race cars!
I need to get to the vintage races more often. There is a great event up here in the PNW every year.
