I took these photos back in September at the MotoGP race at Indianapolis Motorspeedway. It was first big time event I went to and I had a great time. I rented the Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 vr -it was great, but I definitely needed more range. Having that lens did have an added perk- one of the ushers thought I looked "pro" enough to let me into an empty press box overlooking turn 1. It was an incredible location perched under the second tier of the grandstands and just over the fence.

Nice shots Scott. I imagine Indy handled their first MotoGP event better than when Laguna brought them back to the US.

Note to self: Try to drink a Red Bull.

Nice going on getting to the press box. Look like you belong and carry yourself like you belong and no one will confront you. I tried that last year on one of the Indy practice sessions and almost got away with it. Only someone on top of their game ask for my creds.

In case anyone things it was trackside access, it wasn't, but it was close. No way I would put myself or anyone else in danger or get anyone in trouble.
