Came out early to do some shooting on Friday as I'm tied up running the drift event that goes on simultaneously during Sat/Sun. Light was pretty flat all day except for the morning. Qualifications aren't quite as exciting to shoot as the cars are spread out, but I still had fun.

C&C welcomed as I'm more accustomed to the sliding variety of race cars with credentials, these are all shot "from the stands." =)

Thanks.

John – Glad I got a chance to say hello. I’ve been anxiously awaiting your shots to compare. I was pretty disappointed with my shots from last year, this year was a bit better.

Really like the stacked, used tires shot, that is excellent and good eye for seeing the possibilities.

The Dyson shot is disappointing simply because of where you happened to catch it, the graphic on the wall behind the car sits right in front of his face and is really distracting. Not much you can do there unless you snapped another where you caught him in a slight different position.

Nice work.

I like the Audi through the trees. Shot at 1/60 in that tight of a space. Nice job. I have spent my fair share of time in the trees there, but have yet to get something good.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Maybe a slower shutter speed would have blurred that into the background a little more.

Love the Audi shot through the trees as well as the last Intersport shot. The Corvette is nice as well with the front sharp and the rear OOF... very nice. I've spent the whole damn summer trying to practice that shot.;)

Good job.

Thanks for the comments.

I did notice the wall graphic on the Dyson shot, was wondering what the reaction might be...unfortunately I only grabbed a few of those shots. I liked this one the best as most of the other LMP cars have the driver sunk so far down in the car it's hard to get the whole helmet from the angle I was at. Alas, excuses don't make the shot better. ;)

edit... On a side note, does anyone know who takes the shots that are posted here: http://www.americanlemans.com/Gallery/Folders.aspx?ID=5
Just curious if it's anyone here, I didn't see a name anywhere. I know a few of you do a lot of work for ALMS but these don't look like any style I recognize.
