Too many images. I even changed the settings for number of max burst down to 4 after seeing that i was hitting close on the second or third in the series. After shooting with the Mark III for four days, all I can say is that I shouldn't have used it since I'd like to have one, but I'd be better off with a 40D to replace my worn 30D once it goes bad. The IQ seems pretty good when in AE Servo, even with the 400 5.6 with the 1.4x on it. I found the focus a bit off when setting it to single shot and changing the focus pattern. It's probably operator error.

Oh, and the bikini contest was OK. I thought the talent could have been better, but the best one won.

Here's a couple of quick posts I hit with Lightroom. I need to better organize them and trash 96% of the shots I took.

1) Coming out of turn 9 into 10 (Mark III with the 400 5.6 stepstool shot)

2) Coming out of turn 3 hitting the curb during the GT3 race. (Mark III, 400 5.6 w/1.4x tele) I need to rethink the crop.

3) Thursday night practice session coming out of Hairpin (Mark III, 70-200 f2.8 ISO 1600 1/50 f3.5)

4) Borrowing someone else's flash shot since I didn't bother mounting my 580EX II. Lucky timing as the Peugeot was coming into Hairpin.

5) Coming out of turn 6 down the straight into Hairpin (400 with the 1.4 on it.)

#3 is my pick as well. Love the colors and the reflections of the lights off of the puddles.

Any pics of the Mazdas?

Thanks Perry and Jeff. I had to stand on my step stool and shoot over drunken slobs to get it. I bet some people attending were surprised they actually had a race there.

RE: Mazdas - I have some but I haven't sorted them out yet. No night shots on them from the practice run. Of course, they didn't make it into the night at the race.

10 lbs of ice = $5. Screw photography. Sell frozen water.

Chris,

I'll be at MO for Rolex and ALMS. I can't wait until August to sweat for IRL and ALMS. I better start practicing with my 30D again since I was spoiled with the Mark III.

It went back today.

Oh, slightly off topic, but here's the winner of the Boner Custom Rod Bikini Contest at Sebring. What the guy standing next to me told me was she's already won two other contests since January. It seems like a lot of the guys who had media creds just happen to be shooting this when they should have been trackside. ;)
