Amongst others:

Your crops need some work here. Leave a little room for the vehicle to drive into, more space in front than in back. Also, you're as guilty as I was last year of CFS- Center Focus Syndrome. Place your focus point on the lower rung and try it there, cars work better lower in the frame than centered (rule of thirds).

Hi Chris!

Thanks for commenting!

In the context of your usage, what does "Amongst others:" mean?

I will agree most of these are center centric, I tend to shoot that way because of the requirements of my current source of income. I do know that center is not always the answer and in my personal work tend to place the subject in the periphery of the frame. I replaced the 1st image as I agree I clipped it too much when shooting. Sebring is a difficult place to work when on the wrong side of the fence, so most of my compositional choices were taken away by armco, tirewalls and fences. Not an excuse, but a reality of my location.

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

What lens were you shooting with Darren? No EXIF info in on the images.

Last year I got center focus stuck a lot. This year I tried to get better at it and the borrowed MkIII helped with the ring of fire focusing. But even using center point only with the 400 5.6 + 1.4x mounted, I was able to get some better composition than I did last year at this time. I still have a lot of practice ahead, but I'm encouraged.

Sebring is a PITA with every crappy mobile home south of the Mason Dixon line parked there, but I took my 2-step stool with me and that got me over the guardrail in most cases. I tended to use too long of glass a lot, but looking at some dude's beer gut in the background wasn't in the cards.

#2 looks kind of funky with too much saturation and highlites blown out.

The EXIF is there in the Flickr set, not sure why it would be stripped just via the link? Anyway to answer, those were all shot with D2Xs and a70-200 2.8 or a 100-300 f4.
