Hey All,
Haven't had a chance to post any work in quite some time. I got an assignment to cover the 2009 Ojibwe Forest Rally held by Rally America up in my part of the country. Made the short 4 hour journey to the track. I've never shot a rally race before. The most similar event I've covered would be the WSORR and TORC off-road races.

Anyways, here are some shots... (A slightly larger collection is located here:http://www.flickr.com/photos/figzphoto/ Nothing too special... I honestly wasn't expecting the difficulty of shooting this event. Overall most locations were very tight and overgrown with vegetation.

Travis Pastrana easily won with an almost 9 minute lead. Ken Block was knocked out with roll over after he hit a rock and blew the strut through the hood. Dave Mirra DNF'd on day two towards the end of the day.

Nice shots. The last one really does it for me. I would love to see it printed with the subtle details!

I like the last shot as well. Though, I'd like a little more detail I think. I'd love to shoot a rally event some day...looks like fun.

Good results from what sounds like a tough shoot

We'll see if any thing I learned stuck when I'm out in Michigan next month.

LSPR is really dependent on the weather, if it rains it can be miserable, but if it doesn't you can play the fall colors. If the sun is out, the shakedown stage is great to shoot at as it is usually late in day (at least it used to be)
