Hey Guys,
Here is a recent shoot, I wanted to find a really simple background that would help highlight the color of this car. I figured that I would need full sun and the help of a blue sky to help push the metallic. I quickly found that even with the full sun and clear sky, the color was still not working. Thanks to 3 580's I think we just about got there. I included a enginebay to higlight the difference, its also quite a nice enginebay:) . C & C Welcome.

Clean car for sure! Nice shots too. I think the exterior shots are framed a tad bit to close, printing an 8x10 of these would probably crop off a bit of bumper, or otherwise be very close to edge of frame. I usually try and frame things so that an 8x10 print will work well, that lets me print an 8x10 if needed, and gives the car a bit of extra breathing room when viewing at the standard 2:3 ratio with no cropping :-)

I'm with Dan, good shots.... just a tad tight for my liking.

Daniel,
I suppose the crop is too tight if you were to print these on 8x10, but the question must be, why would you want to do that?? Whats wrong with printing in 8x12 or 18x12, with these sizes, what you see in the lens is what you get on paper. I find that most people order the 18x12's, cars need to be printed big :)

Thanks for the comments guys.

Scotty,

He's not talking about the size 8x10... he's just talking that if you print it .. AT ALL, you will run into space issues when you frame it, the frame will be too close to the car or even over lap it.

Hey Eric,
Thanks for clarifing that, as you can probably tell, I dont frame too many of my images.:)
Thanks again for the advice on the crop.

8x10 (4x5, 11x14, 20x24 or anything with that 4:5 ratio) is a pretty common print size. That, and as Eric mentioned, sometimes framing requires some cropping off of the image regardless of size or ratio.

Regardless of need a "reason," the images are simply too tight. Every time I look at them, the car looks shoe-horned into the frame. They're too centered and just too tight.

Of course, my opinion.

Great exposure and color though.
