Nice stuff... really like the last shot. Very nice.
Struggling a bit with the soft focus on the Patrick Long shot... but can't say I DON'T like it... just not sure. LOL
Good meeting you too... need to get you on some other turf one of these days... get you out to Petit.

#3 is sweet, has a large format feel to it with just the front slice of his face in focus :-)

Yeah, I know #3 is a touch soft, or close focused, but like Daniel said, it gives the shot a great feel which is why I included it in this selection. It really shows off the quality or look of my Zeiss 85mm f/1.4. That lens can give either a razor sharp image like #5 or a soft and milky shot like #3.
I do really need to get out and see more than just the California tracks I frequent. Next season I'll have to make a point to get out for Petit or maybe Sebring. I really want to play with the dusk/night time shooting that I only got a taste of at Laguna.

Aaron,
Love #2 & #6. I'm guessing #6 wasn't taken on race day? Your stuff is great, and your shots from last year inspired me to think outside the box this trip.

Thanks Chris! I made it a point to take off work (my day job) on Thursday to make it up for the evening practice to get those turn 6 shots like #6. I had to drive back Saturday night and work on Sunday to make up for Thursday but it was worth it. Once the fog rolled in during the race, I was so happy I got those shots Thursday.

I like 5&6 and feel exactly the same as JT about the soft focus one - kind of like it, don't dislike it but not sure about it either!

Nice set Aaron. #1 has a great feel to it. Really nice light.
I agree with JT on the P. Long shot. Maybe a bit more dof would help.
On a side note. I responded too quickly to your post about who was going to be at Laguna. I didn't see your picture. But I did see you there. Sorry I didn't say hi. I was at the other end and the other side of the table from you in the media room.

Great stuff Aaron! I really like 5, 6, and 8.
I haven't been out to Laguna yet. I would like to do that next year since it will be a six hour race. Petit is much more photogenic than Sebring and is better if you're on the spectator side, IMHO. But Sebring will probably get you out of your comfort zone. Just think, "now for something completely different", LOL!
