So I would like to plan a trip out to Florida for the 12hr of Sebring in March 2010. Flying out of LAX, those that have been or living in the area where is a good place to fly into? Planning on arriving wed the 17th and departing on Sunday the 21st. Also any good places to stay around the track, nothing fancy and expensive. As for the track is it an open track like Laguna Seca? Will a small fold able step chair do the trick to get over the fence shots? Are there plenty of open areas to shoot from? Never been and would love to do a 12hr race, so planning ahead of time and seeing what I am getting into. Any help would be great.

Thanks

Sevan

p.s. anyone want to go with?

Most fly into Orlando. Though while it appears to be further, with the ease of access, Fort Myers airport is a good option. (RSW). It's about an hour and forty five minutes from Sebring, whereas, Orland is an hour and twenty. But.... it takes you an hour to get in and out of Orlando. FYI, all the Corvette guys go through RSW.

Hotels. FORGET IT! Even a hell hole will cost you $195 per night and have a four or five night minimum. You won't find anything within an hour. They're already booked solid.

Camping at the track at Sebring? You want to sleep? :)

There are some family areas that might allow you to catch some sleep. I went last year for the first time and holy cow! What a zoo. I think there was 150,000 people there for four days and only 10, 000 actually knew there was a race going on.

I'm lucky. If I go again, I get to stay at my in-laws house 25 minutes away. Free.
