So whats the difference? I feel like everytime I "comment" on photos in the "static and beauty" board, I am giving a critique. If this board is for learning, wouldn't it just make sense to combine the two so that you have the opportunity to learn on everything you post?! I clearly see the need for a seperate forum for motorsports, but just can't see the difference between the static and beauty, and the critique forums...

Mark:
Obviously, everything we do in the Shooter's Boards is up for "discussion." And, I think there's a marked difference. Sure... sometimes we like to post our stuff to get some "attaboys." ... Or just discuss the issues of shooting something in particular, the difficulty, the composition, the lighting.. maybe even the client or the subject itself.
That said, I would like to see the Shooter's Board not become OVERLY critical. Those boards are the gathering places of APN and should remain informative, casual and fun.
On the other hand, the Critique section is provided for two reasons. If someone is working on a shot... or developing and idea in a photo, this is a place to post one or two shots to get serious and critical feedback. It is also a place for those participating in the Monthly Assignment to feedback before submitting an entry.
So, Shooter's Boards for topical discussion, sharing images, and having some fun. Critique Board for submitting an image when you wish to get critical feedback to improve the image.
Make sense?

I suppose I'm never going to win this battle, but it seems to me like there are a buch of people who are still confused at what the differences between these two boards are.
