I'm slow, what can I say. A nasty head cold the week afterward followed by 2 big races in my area I just haven't had time to go through my photos. I finally got them all done this evening. I didn't get nearly the amount of shots had planned on Saturday, so Thursday and Friday will have to make up for it.

Galleries from all 3 days can be found here if you're interested: http://www.brentsmithphotography.com/2009/Road-Atlanta

Nice stuff... great shot in the esses... and night shots are spot on. No flash I see? LOL

What 400mm did you use on #7?

Nice set. I particularly like #3 & #7 and even the tilt in #5. T5 makes a nice line in that shot. It's just a shame they run qualifying in the middle of the afternoon.

Great Bimmer shot, #1 looks great too.

I really like #7, I love that you can see Lucas checking his mirrors.

Yes, no flash. Is that a surprise?

I used my 100-400. I was going to sell it over the winter but never went through with it. Now I'm going to try and do it again this year and pick up the 400 f/5.6 prime.

You'll love the 400 5.6. For the price, you can't beat it. But sometimes I wish I had the 100-400 instead. I'm not a fan of the push-pull zoom, but it beats switching between the 70-200 with the 1.4X and the 400 all the time.

Sorry Steve. I asked what 400mm he used because I basically "knew" which 400mm he used.

Not only is the push pull an issue... the softness and the slow auto focus is brutal. #7 was a dead giveaway and could be a poster child for that lens.

No doubt, the range is VERY appealing... but the trade-off in IQ and overall performance doesn't make it a good investment.

He will get is money from it though...

I'm loving 3, the way the road stretches out in front of the bimmer. I could see that as a double pager in a glossy mag.:)
