I was planning to shoot Petit...but the site I normally work with from Europe I haven't been able to get in touch with via any means to get the materials together for credentials.

I'm disappointed, but at the same time I've been shooting something besides motorsports this fall (high school football at a private school in Atlanta that has some of the best recruits nationally) and really enjoying it.

It was a chance opportunity to get this job...the photographer who has the contract with the school for all photography was our wedding photographer and also the wedding photographer for my wife's cousin. We saw him at that wedding...I mentioned wanting to do more sports...and he offered it to me after seeing some of my work.

I guess I had planned to get some new material at Petit and see what I could come up with regionally next year for racing...guess that plan has changed.

Am I quitting motorsport? No...just taking a step back and really focusing on where I can get paid and make a profit.

I had planned on going. I've always wanted to see Petit... but alas, I'll be shooting AMA at Mid-Ohio next week. Funny, everybody cracks on Corzett for not leaving Cali... at least he moves to different tracks!! I might as well pitch a tent at Mid-Ohio..... Maybe Michelle will let me move into that little A-Frame back by the paddock...;)

I leave... well, I have left... once... but that was to go to France, so that counts double right?

Shoot a dozen events in California? or shoot five that require traveling? It's not the greatest business model... there is more money to be made by shooting every event from a series rather than one or two events from one... but it does cost less to do it.

I have been an admirer of your work since I joined here. The diversity is nice. Drag racing, IRL, etc...
I could only wish to shoot like that.

I just wanted to let you know I wasn't having a "Go" at you or anything, more at myself for only posting "blah blah blah @ MidOhio" threads....;)
