Hi everyone,
I thought you might like a look at what's going on (motorsport wise) south of the equator.
This week I've put out a New Zealand Superbike Championship Review book that you might like to flick through: http://bit.ly/d2C4Nt
..and updated my portfolio: www.championshipdigital.com/greatesthits
I'm not looking for a full C&C (they scare me), just wanted to share and perhaps start a conversation.

You'll get more participation if you post images. Most photographers spend all day going through galleries and would much rather see 'your best' in a tight edit. Just a suggestion.

These are nice Andrew. The Lorenzo and Phillip island shots are my pick of the bunch.

I like the shot from Phillips Island that looks over the crowd (portrait format) and I like the last going away shot.
The shot from Wanganui | 2009 could have been greatly improved with some patience. I think you shot too early.... I'd have liked for the bikes to come more into the foreground and frame.
The crash shots aren't really my cup of tea... save the one where you can see the rider's face.

Thanks for your feedback guys - it's great to get an opinion from a completely new set of people to those I normally shoot beside.
Yep, Phillip Island can certainly turn it on when the occasion presents itself. It seems to be a circuit where great images come easily.
These shots are from the same spot John - are they working any better for you?

I think the second one here is stronger... better composition. I realize we don't always get what we want, but just to put the idea out there... the shot from your original set was wider... the crowd in the background signage etc.... that brings a lot to the story. I don't know if the track turns away from you or what... BUT... in that original shot had just waited, waited, waited BANG... catching those two riders wheel-to-wheel at that crest in the foreground would be a pretty powerful image of "the scene." It's not so much about the two guys side-by-side as it is about the two guys side-by-side in context. IMO
By the same token, the last frame in your second post doesn't have much impact at all.. whereas the second one is a much better framed image of the riders... I like them in the right-side of the frame.

The only thing I would add is that in the second series I feel "tension" in the second shot. Whereas the third shot is if it's been released (like you missed the real action). I realize these are from different races. It's just the feeling I get seeing them in series.
