AMA Superbike Shootout at Mid-Ohio this weekend.

The only real "shootout" taking place seems to be between the AMA and the Riders over whether or not to race in the rain. The AMA initially said, "We WILL race in the rain."

Then the riders said "hmmmm, Not So Much".

So it was all good Friday, except for the lack of sun, but hey, riders on track.
Here is a small sample of what I got Friday:

Then came Saturday, when the "Shootout" really came to a head. AMA says "We ARE racing" Then the first couple of practice sessions came and went, and it became clear that the Riders were winning this battle. So, we sat around for about 4-5 hours doing nothing, except walking around and shooting a little in the paddock. When it finally stopped raining they decided that the track needed to completely dry. Which took far longer than it needed to, and we got in ONE round of practice before it started raining again and all track activity stopped. At which point I said.....well, for the sake of deceny I shouldn't tell you what I said. But I went home.

Here is the one shot I got today that I liked:

Thanks for looking, Hopefully we get something tomorrow!

Thanks John.

To be honest, I wasn't really happy with any of those, but what can you do?

Sunday was by far the best day for shooting, I stayed almost all day, which is rare for me on a Sunday, when I have to work the next day. I'm glad I did. The late afternoon light in the keyhole was very nice. Still sorting through them all, I'll throw some Sunday ones up in a day or so.

One thing I am noticing is that Superbikes may be a just tad too fast for the little Rebel that could. All of my little focusing tricks that seem to work on cars, don't work on bikes. My "keeper" ratio was FAR worse than with cars.....May be time to upgrade bodies. (at least I'm trying to talk myself into it anyway:D )
