These shots don't look like something from a "newbie"... so, no "going easy on you" :p

Great stuff... lota of top-notch action. Personally, I just love the color of the light! (the first shot is a perfect example) #2 is nice action, but seems a bit "snap-shot-ish"... Maybe a different crop? I know, I'm being overly picky again, but compared to #4 (which is great action combined with a great shot) #2 doesn't seem as impressive. I'm torn between #1 and #4 as my favorite... both are superb!

Wow, I really like the first shot, very artistic and vibrant. I also like the 4th shot of the 'Vette with the back wheel still spinning and the front frozen...very good shutter speed control! Good stuff!

Agreed.

I love the color of the light in #1, stunning. #4 is great as well.

But I have to say maybe my favorite would be #5. The rest of them, while very nice, could have been shot anywhere. I look at #5 and know it was Road Atlanta. To me thats a good thing, and something I've struggled with at MidOh, this year.

Nice Job.:)

z - how much did you experiment with shutter speed? pans from 1/60 up to 1/200. Also, how much did you experiment with where you put the car in the frame? centered vs right side vs left side vs bottom of the frame, etc.

No need to answer these questions. Just ideas of what you might want to get into next time.

The light, color, and exposure in #1 are very good...but I'm sure JT will tell you to get off the center AF point and try getting lower in the frame. More sky, less foreground.

Nice DOF control in #3.

#5 looks too red. Yeah, I know the dirt at Road Atlanta is very red...just ask the carpets in my car. But the grass, the cars, and the tents just look off too me.
