JGTC at Road Atlanta?

They came to Irvine, CA with 44,000 people attending so I don't see why Road Atlanta couldn't be used as a venue. Call me crazy but i'm in the process of making a website as a "petition" to bring SuperGT to the east coast..US east coast that is. Planning on using phpBB [free!] and the number of people registered could be how many people interested, plus it would give a place for news, discussions, and a forum to load up photos of the Irvine and Japan events. I've seen a few great examples on here and would be more than happy to show them off on the site with the photographers name. (i.e. Paul Hanson's - Super Taikyu & Super GT threads). Not to mention it would seem like the perfect weekend for a vintage show and maybe a drift expo as an opener?! I can dream can't I? :D

How about we PROMOTE the seires we've got? US Road Racing doesn't need anymore fragmenting. We need to do whatever we can do to get one of them healthy. :)

While I applaud your enthusiasm, I must agree with John. Until the series we currently have in this country are much healthier, I see no reason to invite more road racing here.

i disagree.

what made their success in SoCal was A) the nearness to a huge population, b) the first time JGTC / Super GT has EVER been in the US, and C) the huge hype that surrounded it for the 6 months going there.

now, let me look at a few things...
1 - flights to atlanta aren't nearly as cheap as flights to LA
2 - Neither are hotels in / near Road Atlanta
3 - 3 years later, the novelty has worn off (even if it hasn't reaturned, now that people have seen it, it's just not the same)
4 - shipping costs to the East Coast are SUBSTANTIALLY more than shipping to the west coast.
5 - same with storage fees. There's more than 100 aftermarket companies in socal, the marjority of which are willing to store 1-2 cars at their facility. Can you honestly say the same about Atlanta?

I understand what you're searching for. But it's going to take a lot more to bring the Super GT series back to the US than just some internet "interest". If they return,
