Where's all the hot girlies to stand next to each, showing their, um, trim levels? ;)

Love this shot. Bet there was quite a crew out there on El Mirage.

Yes, it must have taken some great assistants to pull off a shot like that. Was it hard to get the cars clean, it looks like a dusty location?

Great light! I like how the background Zeees just peek in between the foreground Zeees and the Zeee on the left makes the image asymmetrical, giving more interest to the composition

You must have used a Nikon to create such good color rendition and tonal range

Well actually I had the help of two of the best assistants I could afford, but I had to do all the cleaning myself as they were too busy arguing about who had nicer hair, Lindsy or Paris and drinking non-fat decaf lattes.

I just wish I could afford to shoot Nikon.....:(

Ouch, I just shot my drink out my nostrils.

Paris can be a handful, eh? Especially with all the crapparazzi everywhere when she's around. Now if you could get THEM to help clean the cars as they're shooting crappy flash-on-camera shots of Paris, you'd really have an efficient system. At least till Paris sits in one of the cars and the crapparazzi shoot all kinds of pictures hoping she's going commando.

I actually saw Paris yesterday, i thought her hair looked nice

wow, thats a pretty daunting shoot! All the little things I work on while shooting just one car, I can't imagine shooting a whole flock like that!

The red car seems to stand out from the pack a bit (strong reflections, lights are on, and the only car facing backwards), but other than that I think it's a great image! nice work! You mention "a few more nissans", did you post the others? I must have missed those.

Bummer to hear about the assistants

Whoa! did you take that?
he's posting it, isn't he? I'd assume it's his work.

drinking non-fat decaf lattes.

That is why when I used to assist, I would always drink caffeinated Lattes so to light a fire under my ass. It's pretty easy to get distracted and lazy when you are drinking decafe lattes.

And non fat?! Where did you find these guys?

Mike does great work. His assistant stories are legendary. He has one assistant that gets stoned enough to warrant the name "Stoney". Sadly, he finds some people that are barely worthy of being called "Assistants", one even tried to kill him in the back of a pickup. Or so I've heard. You gotta ask him about rented cars on a GM catalogue shoot. That'll take him back. Haha.

Despite all this, he's my favorite car shooter. His stuff shows what a passionate, highly technical, artistic car shooter can do.

Agreed, when as an impressionable young 15 year old, I first saw his work, I immediately knew that I wanted to be a car shooter some day.
I even had one of his posters on my wall, the one with the Porsche 911 Turbo and Farrah Fawcett in the white dress, boo yow!

Weho.

Daniel...they all had their twinkle lights on. The Nismo Z stands put for a few reasons:

a. It's red.
b. It's the first one you see, reading the picture left to right.
c. It's a Nismo (had choice of red, silver or blue)
d. It has the unobstructed light from the horizon
e. It's a bit closer to the camera
f. It's red.
