These are the finalists for assingment #103 Wheels. Thanks to those who entered... the participation was much better and we appreciate the effort you all put into your submissions.
In casting your vote among the finalists here, remember to judge each entry on relativity to the theme, technical execution and overaall asthetic appeal.

How were the finalists chosen, I never saw a poll or any voting to choose the finalists?

from the original thread:
"We will choose finalists at the end of each assignment period, then registered members of the forum will vote from thsoe finalists."
I assume it's the moderators.
Great images this month! Glad to see the jump in numbers! Hope this continues :-)

FAQ
How are the finalists chosen?
At the end of the assignment period, the initial finalists will be chosen by the board moderators. Then the finalists are posted for voting.
Relevance to the assignment is a very important factor. Even if an image is excellent, there is a chance that it may not be chosen. Creativity is the second most important consideration. Then image quality, subject matter, and many other criteria are considered.
A submission might be great, but if there are similar images in content and originality with stronger element designs or image quality, only the best image of the bunch will be chosen. There is a subjective line of thought when choosing the assignments, but we consider it well structured and fair to all participants.
Who moderates the Monthly Assignment board?
John Thawley. Jim Sykes & Zerin Dube are the board moderators.
Does the number of replies submissions receive affect the final grading?
No. The number of replies your image receives is not relevant to which photo is chosen as a finalist.
Since you were an entrant this month, Zerin and I made our choices. And, we based them on the three criteria stated. Not sure which part is confusing.

Oh, I just hadnt seen that part and I think this was the first one where we had enough entrants to actually require finalists so we didnt have to choose before.
I wasnt questioning the final choices, just didnt see that in the rules...sorry.
