After 2 years of modifications I think I am finally finished. Added TechArt splitter to side intakes. This shot is kind of a test using a new circular polarizer and combining a few exposures for higher dynamic range. I tried using strobes but failed miserably and went back to my old reliable technique.

Your window is down :p

What a beautiful car...and the house..

A curve adjustment would help bring back some of the dark tones. Right now it's a little flat and dull. Could use a tweak in saturation too. At least on my monitor.

Polarizers (circular or linear) are over rated but occasionally useful in some situations. This is not really one of them.

This image is heavily tweaked and bringing out any more darks would result in excessive noise. It is not a black car but Atlas Grey which is a very difficult color to present in photos. It tends to have more of a soft specularity rather than hard reflections.

The polarizer helped me control where the reflections were happening so I found it to be an interesting tool.

Golly, I hope it's not a black car otherwise my monitor is really off!
The shot is an example of how important the quality of light is and polarizers and combining exposures cannot make up for what isn't there to start with. And that car has a lot of wacky curves making it difficult to shoot anyway.

Looking at the tires, though... I still think you could push the black point up a bit. I never doubted the car was gray... but there are other areas that look washed out to me.

Hey Britt- Are you converting to sRGB before you post? sRGB looks much better on the web, and might be contributing to the differences between what you see and what we see.

I actually do everything in sRGB on a calibrated montior.
